Our top 5 Things to Do in Krabi, Thailand

Disclaimer: Please check this link for the most updated information regarding COVID numbers and province updates in Thailand before deciding to travel.

Let’s face it, travel is a bit different due to the current times. Restrictions are in place, and for good reason, there are a lot fewer people at the most popular tourist destinations, and some places have completely shut down. Although this is occurring, there are plenty of people planning for better times. The world is back to booking trips and airlines have resumed with regularly priced tickets.

When you feel comfortable traveling again, we’d like you to consider a trip to Krabi, Thailand. Krabi is a destination for any type of traveler from a solo traveler to a family of 5. Here are our top 5 things to do while visiting Krabi!

1.  Visit Ao Nang

Ao Nang in itself is a reason to visit Krabi. The lively and extremely friendly nature of this beach town is sure to give you a feeling of joy.

  1. Weekend Night Market - the market runs from Friday- Sunday and features delicious food, entertainment, and beautiful views of the mountains and beach.

  2. Beach Day - grab your snacks (and cameras - the Thai people do not miss a chance for a good photo opportunity!) and head to the beach. In our opinion, this isn’t a beach for laying out and catching rays, but it’s a “grab your blanket” and relax to the beautiful sounds of crashing water. There is a lengthy walkway to enjoy alined with shops and restaurants you can partake in.

  3. Delicious Food & Cute Cafes - This town is littered with an abundance of food options. From your local family cafe to your “chain” type of establishment, there is no shortage of places to buy that delicious smoothie you know you want. Some of our favorites BUZZ Cafe and my favorite smoothie (other than the fresh mango at the markets, of course) came from Lekker Cafe’ Krabi.

  4. Mountain Buddha Temple - Nothing short of EPIC! Check out the photo yourself below!

2. Krabi Town

  1. White temple - simply a beautiful sight. Perched on an unexpecting hill, the White Temple is amazing to see in a “newer” feeling town.

  2. Crab Statue ( and others of course) - You can’t come and NOT take an obligatory picture in front of the crab. There are of course other informative statues sprinkled around town, Take the time to hunt them down and gather some information about the province.

  3. Delicious food - I’m sure this will be included in every point because Thailand is a country that does not lack in flavor. Our favorite cafe hands down was TAN CAFE x JUST FINE KRABI TOWN.

3. Standup Paddle Boarding on Railay Beach

We aren’t sure what compelled us to do our very first SUP experience at night, but we are glad we did. Our experience was an easy streamlined process that we booked through Freebird Paddle Co. The husband and wife duo helped us coordinate everything from pick-up and drop-off directly to our hotel, along with a tuk-tuk ride and longtail boat experience. Bioluminescent phytoplankton are something you should see at least once in your lifetime! The guides communicate very well and are always willing to help you out if you need a hand.

4. Speedboat Tour to 4 Islands & Koh Phi Phi

During our time we saw the major attractions including Bamboo Island, Monkey Bay (which had no monkeys at the time), Phi Phi Island, and we stopped in a few places to enjoy some very clear snorkeling. The guides provided water, a snack, lunch and plenty of assistance when needed. Our tour was booked directly through our front desk hotel, so we do not have a direct link. This tour can be found being sold all over, trust us you can’t miss it.

5. Visit the Temples

Here’s a list of a few of our favorites:

  1. Mountain Buddha Temple - Ao nang

  2. Tiger Temple - Krabi Town

  3. White Temple - Krabi Town
